Konecranes has completed the installation of six S-series overhead cranes at Contibelt Band Systeme GmbH’s production facility in Stockerau, Austria. The cranes, with lifting capacities between 5 and 10 tons, will support the handling of heavy steel coils in the company’s manufacturing of conveyor system belts. The project, finalized in July 2025, marks another stage in the long-term cooperation between the two companies.
The cranes feature synchronized tandem lifting, anti-collision technology, and variable frequency drives designed to improve safety and efficiency during production. Load positioning controls further enhance precision when moving steel coils through various processing stages. The upgrade was intended to modernize Contibelt’s material handling capability while fitting seamlessly into the existing facility structure.
“We’ve had a strong working relationship with Konecranes for many years. Some of our cranes had already far exceeded their expected service life. Additionally, we needed more modern control systems and higher load capacities. That’s why we invited several crane manufacturers to develop a solution that would meet our increased requirements without requiring any changes to the building. Only Konecranes was able to deliver. We’re very satisfied with the solution and with how the work was carried out,” said Mario Mihaljevic, Sales Manager, Contibelt Austria.
