Kubota Expands Small Construction Machinery Production in Germany

Kubota Baumaschinen GmbH (KBM), part of the Kubota Corporation Group, has announced plans to significantly increase its production capacity of mini excavators for the European market. The company aims to boost capacity by 40% by 2028, supported by the establishment of a new factory in Zweibrücken, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. This expansion reflects Kubota's strategy to meet growing medium- to long-term demand for construction equipment in Europe, particularly for urban development and infrastructure renewal projects.

The new factory, covering approximately 87,000 square meters, will complement KBM’s existing site and enable phased production of mini excavators and wheel loaders starting in mid-2026. By 2028, the site is expected to increase total production to 140% of current levels. This expansion aligns with Kubota's broader goal of achieving 1 trillion yen in sales for its construction machinery business by the same year.

Kubota has stated that this investment underscores its commitment to capturing European market growth and addressing sustained demand for compact construction machinery. The Zweibrücken facility will play a central role in supporting the company's long-term ambitions for the region.
