McLanahan has been awarded a contract to supply a wash plant to SunSkips, a UK skip hire and waste management service. The system will include an UltraSCRUB Modular Scrubbing Plant, an UltraSAND Plant, and an HRT10 Thickener. This setup is designed to process construction, demolition, and excavation waste, as well as trommel fines. The plant will help SunSkips reduce landfill waste by recycling a significant portion of process water and limiting waste volume in settling ponds.
McLanahan’s UltraSCRUB and UltraSAND systems will enable SunSkips to process construction and demolition debris into three sizes of aggregate and one sand product. The UltraSCRUB unit starts by separating fine sand particles with a pre-screen module, then the sand is washed and dewatered in the UltraSAND Plant. Coarse aggregates are cleaned in the Coarse Material Screw Washer, which removes contaminants before sorting into various sizes. The washing process produces effluent that is concentrated in a Thickener to recover reusable process water and minimize waste sent to the settling pond.
“We are excited to provide another solution in the U.K. marketplace that deals with trommel fines. SunSkips is a rapidly growing and dynamic company and McLanahan is delighted to be part of their journey,” said Donal McNicholl, Director of Sales – U.K. and Ireland for McLanahan.
