Compact Valve System Integrates Energy Monitoring for HVAC Efficiency

KSB Group has introduced the BOATRONIC 100 MOD measuring computer, a solution designed to enhance energy efficiency in heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) and cooling systems. Paired with the BOA-Control IMS balancing and shut-off valve, the measuring computer converts the valve into a complete energy monitoring system. The system measures flow direction, volume flow rate, supply and return temperature, thermal output and heat quantity directly at the valve, eliminating the need for additional measuring systems.

Featuring ultrasonic flow measurement technology, the valve offers accurate, leak-free operation without fluid contact, making it resistant to deposits and contamination. The BOATRONIC 100 MOD integrates with building management systems through analog interfaces and Modbus RTU, ensuring process transparency. Key applications include hydraulic balancing in heating and cooling systems, with nominal sizes ranging from DN 15 to DN 350.

The company highlights that the compact system's standard face-to-face length simplifies retrofitting in energy-efficient refurbishment projects. Optimized for both water and water/glycol mixtures, it is suitable for a wide range of systems. A variant with electrostatic plastic coating is also available for drinking water and oil-free cooling circuits.
