Betolar and Consolis Parma have entered the industrial production phase of their world’s lowest-emission hollow-core slabs, developed using Betolar’s Geoprime® solution. A three-year license and supply agreement between the companies grants Consolis Parma the exclusive right to manufacture the slabs in Finland. The agreement also offers Consolis Group companies in 17 countries the option to adopt Betolar’s solution for producing hollow-core slabs and other concrete products. The new slabs, made with industrial side streams instead of cement, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 75% compared to traditional production methods.
Production will begin with a pilot site, with volumes gradually increasing in the first year. Both companies say they are committed to ensuring high environmental standards throughout the process.
"The low-carbon hollow-core slabs by Betolar and Consolis Parma received approval in the spring according to EN standards, which enables CE marking in Finland." said Ville Voipio, Director of Construction & Marketing at Betolar.
