Volvo and Putzmeister Unveil Electric Pump Truck at bauma

Volvo Trucks and Putzmeister have presented, what they describe as, one of the world’s largest battery-electric concrete pump trucks at bauma . Built on a Volvo FM Electric 8x4 chassis, the truck features a 42 m reach and is set to be delivered to Swedish construction firm Swerock. The vehicle can travel up to 50 km and pump around 50 m³ of concrete on a single charge, with the option to continue operation while charging on site.

The vehicle forms part of Volvo’s wider electric offering for the construction sector, which includes electric transport trucks, mixers and tippers. This new model, developed in collaboration with Putzmeister, reflects growing demand for lower-emission solutions on construction sites. It includes a 360 kWh battery system, dual electric motors and CCS2-compatible charging infrastructure.

“Volvo Trucks is the innovator when it comes to new technologies in combination with electric trucks. After presenting electric concrete mixers and heavy applications for construction, we are proud to show yet another world-class innovation for the construction segment here at bauma.” said Christoph Fitz, Head of Sales at Volvo Trucks in Germany.
