Michelin Expands Access to TreadEye Technology

Michelin North America has announced the full rollout of its TreadEye technology across the Michelin Retread Technologies franchise network in the United States, following a phased implementation period. Designed to improve the retread process, TreadEye is a proprietary system that captures detailed tread depth data to help fleets better manage tire performance and value.

The tool records 1,200 measurement points per tire to generate precise insights into tread wear and casing condition. By enabling early detection of issues and supporting more accurate tire removal decisions, Michelin says that TreadEye can help reduce downtime, prevent casing damage, and minimize DOT violations. The system also identifies pull points by fleet location and aims to optimize tire usage by avoiding premature removals.

“TreadEye is a game-changer for our retread operations and for the fleets we serve. It’s a powerful example of how Michelin continues to innovate in ways that directly benefit our customers.” said Nate Kirian, Vice President of Sales and Distribution, Commercial Business Lines for Michelin North America, Inc.
