From engineering design to construction management, Olivia Kochanek has travelled far in her young career. Originally from Chicago, she is lead civil engineer on Honolulu’s Skyline project, where she has had to navigate the complexities of major utility relocation, and implementing the design of a transit megaproject into construction. Olivia shares how construction management comes with a lot of unexpected challenges and collaboration with empathy for all parties involved on the project goes a long way.
