CDE is organising an online webinar that will gather leading experts to discuss trends and challenges shaping the construction materials industry in 2026. The event will cover topics including economic forecasts, regulatory changes, and innovations impacting construction and aggregates producers across key Western markets. Participants will gain insight into growth pockets, financing conditions, and market competitiveness influenced by new legislation.
Speakers include Aurelie Delannoy, Director of Economic Affairs at MPA, Pierre G. Villere, Senior Managing Partner at Allen-Villere, and Lorenzo Rodriguez-Fernandez, Senior Economist at Experian Economics, who will share perspectives on regional economic trends, investment outlooks, and sustainability-driven growth opportunities. A roundtable session facilitated by CDE’s Paschal Lynch and Michael Nesbitt will explore circular economy initiatives, PFAS management, and technology’s role in recycled aggregates.
“Looking ahead to 2026, the global economy is expected to grow between 2.5% to 3.1%, with emerging markets leading the way while advanced economies expand more slowly. Inflation is gradually easing, but regional differences mean some economies will still feel pressure. And risks still remain, including trade tensions and financial vulnerabilities, addressing tight labour markets, unravelling trade tariffs, and managing fiscal policies will be essential to steer growth in the coming months.” said Michael Nesbitt CDE's Market Researcher.
