Skanska has been awarded a contract by a joint venture between Grosvenor and Mitsui Fudosan UK to deliver the South Molton project in Mayfair, London. The GBP 197 million (approximately SEK 2.6 billion) contract includes the demolition of existing structures and construction of two new office buildings, totaling 24,800 square meters. These buildings will feature 13,800 square meters of category A office space, complemented by retail, leisure, and dining outlets, alongside the refurbishment of the Running Horse public house.
The development aims to achieve high environmental standards, targeting BREEAM Outstanding certification for the office spaces and a NABERS 5-star rating through the Design for Performance framework. The project is also set to meet WiredScore Platinum certification for digital connectivity. Construction is underway and is expected to conclude in July 2027.
According to Skanska, the project forms part of the broader redevelopment of South Molton, which will create a vibrant destination in London’s West End, blending offices, retail and leisure with residential and hospitality spaces.
