Hitachi Construction Machinery Establishes Development Center in India

Hitachi Construction Machinery has announced that its new subsidiary, Hitachi Construction Machinery Development Center India Private Limited, has been established in Hubballi, Karnataka. The center aims to enhance the company’s global product development capabilities, focusing on equipment such as hydraulic excavators and wheel loaders. The facility plans to employ 200 engineers and designers by FY2027, drawing on India’s talent in IT and mechanical engineering.

Hubballi was selected for its strong infrastructure, proximity to science-focused universities, and concentration of startups. The center will use advanced Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to conduct simulations and analyses of structural strength, heat transmission, and noise reduction in machinery. Full-scale operations are anticipated to begin in April 2026, with engineers undergoing training in Japan as part of the program.

Hitachi Construction Machinery says this initiative will accelerate product development and enable the rapid delivery of improved machinery to address challenges faced by its customers.
