AtkinsRéalis has unveiled its SIMULATOR digital suite at the 2025 ITS World Congress, expanding beyond the company's award-winning City Simulator platform. The comprehensive solution aims to offer market-specific modules targeting cities, transportation networks, seaports, airports, and installations for resilience planning applications. Each deployment begins with digital twin creation, described as dynamic, data-driven models that replicate real-world infrastructure systems for vulnerability assessment and risk modeling.
Technical specifications indicate the platform integrates diverse data sources including stormwater infrastructure, power grids, and zoning regulations to evaluate system performance under various threat scenarios. Early implementations have been reported across multiple regions, with Atlanta utilizing the system for transportation planning analysis, North Carolina's Department of Transportation modeling US-74 corridor investments, and Boulder County applying findings to FEMA reconstruction funding applications. The suite aims to address what the company characterizes as increasing complexity and disruption risks facing modern infrastructure systems.
"As infrastructure systems become more complex and face increasing disruption risks, traditional planning methods are no longer enough. SIMULATOR empowers our clients with advanced modeling and simulation tools to turn uncertainty into strategy—delivering actionable insights that protect communities, strengthen critical systems, and guide smarter investment decisions for a more resilient future." said Donna Huey, Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer, AtkinsRéalis.
