Leica Geosystems has introduced the Leica TS20, a robotic total station designed to enhance surveying productivity through advanced edge AI technology. The TS20 integrates AI-powered features such as automatic target recognition, target search, and workflow optimisation to reduce errors and accelerate fieldwork, even under challenging conditions like rain or mist. Its durable IP66-rated construction ensures protection against dust and water, while connectivity features support cloud-based collaboration and IoT readiness. Compatible with Leica’s software ecosystem and accessories, the TS20 aims to streamline repetitive surveying tasks and improve measurement reliability.
The system includes smart security features via GeoCloud Protect, allowing users to remotely locate, lock, or disable the instrument in case of theft. Leica Geosystems combines over two centuries of expertise with modern innovation to address the evolving needs of surveyors, providing a solution built for precision, efficiency, and data security. The instrument’s integration with Leica’s AP20 AutoPole further enhances its automated capabilities, ensuring seamless operation in diverse environments.
“The Leica TS20 is the most significant leap forward in total station technology in over a decade. Built from the ground up with input from our customers and engineering teams, it meets the demands of modern surveyors, empowering them to succeed in every job and condition.” said Moritz Lauwiner, Executive Vice President at Hexagon’s Geosystems division and President of Leica Geosystems’ Geomatics division.
