Danfoss Power Solutions’ X1P open-circuit piston pump has been awarded the fluid power category title in the 2025 Leadership in Engineering Achievement Program (LEAP) Awards. Designed for medium-power mobile machinery, the X1P pump combines high power density with a compact footprint, making it well suited to applications where space is limited. Its innovative swashplate design with roller-element cradle bearings reduces the pump’s length by up to 25 millimetres, resulting in the shortest 75-cc 280-bar pump on the market. This design also cuts hysteresis by up to 80%, improving flow control accuracy and ensuring smooth, reliable operation.
Built from proven components, the X1P pump supports durability and sustainability goals by simplifying remanufacturing and reducing environmental impact through reuse of parts. Future updates will bring advanced control options to enhance adaptability in demanding environments.
“It is an honour for the X1P team to receive the 2025 LEAP gold award for our all-new X1P axial piston pump,” said Vince Ewald, Global Product Portfolio Manager, Open-Circuit Pumps at Danfoss Power Solutions. “With a high focus on delivering valuable control improvements while being mindful of sustainability, the team has delivered the market's new generation workhorse, delivering high performance and power density within the industry's shortest 75-cc package size.”
