Tsurumi says that increasingly extreme weather presents construction projects with growing challenges. Long dry spells and sudden downpours can disrupt work, flood shafts and pits, and strain groundwater control systems. The company’s pumps—including the KTZ and LSC models—are designed for continuous use in harsh conditions, featuring dry-running capability, forced lubrication, and materials such as silicon carbide to resist wear during prolonged operation.
While these conditions are common above ground, similar risks affect underground construction, where confined access and limited cooling make reliable pump performance essential. Tsurumi highlights that its pumps have been used in deep excavations and foundation pits, where fluctuating water levels and high ambient temperatures demand robust dewatering solutions.
“In summer, speed and reliability are key. Our pumps are built to keep operations running, even during heatwaves and storms.” said Stefan Himmelsbach, application expert at Tsurumi (Europe) GmbH.
