Alimak Group has entered a five-year exclusive agreement with Skyline Robotics to advance the development of automated Building Maintenance Units (BMUs) for permanent facade access. The partnership will combine Alimak Group’s vertical access solutions expertise with Skyline’s robotics capabilities to create an integrated robotic system for automated window cleaning and facade maintenance. As part of the collaboration, Alimak Group has also made an undisclosed investment in Skyline Robotics.
The initiative aligns with Alimak Group's commitment to innovation in the construction and infrastructure sectors. In addition to this collaboration, the company’s Facade Access division has recently introduced a mechatronic BMU with multi-axis controls. The new solution is designed to simplify operation, reduce weight by 20%, and lower CO₂ emissions by 30% compared to traditional telescopic BMUs.
“Our Facade Access division is focused on integrating advanced technology into our solutions to enhance sustainability and efficiency. Partnering with Skyline Robotics allows us to deliver smarter, more integrated solutions that align with modern asset management strategies." Said Philippe Gastineau, Senior EVP of the Facade Access division at Alimak Group.
