Epiroc Adds New Cabin to SmartROC Rigs

Epiroc has introduced updated versions of its SmartROC T35 and T40 surface drill rigs, with a new operator cabin designed to enhance both safety and comfort. The redesigned cabin is reported to offer reduced noise and vibration levels, increased interior space, and improved visibility over the drilling area. The updates are intended to support smoother operation and sustained productivity in demanding surface drilling environments.

In addition to comfort-related upgrades, Epiroc highlights several safety-focused features, including a blast-resistant glass option and a more advanced air-filtering system to reduce dust exposure. Certain functions can now be controlled directly from inside the cabin, which the company says may help minimise operator exposure to potential hazards. The rigs also offer new performance options such as an onboard bit grinder to help maintain drilling efficiency.

“Our new cabin will increase the comfort for the operator in many ways, which helps to reduce fatigue and keep productivity high,” said Ulf Gyllander, Global Product Manager, Epiroc Surface division.
