Hywel Griffiths Plant Hire and Groundworks, a UK-based contractor, has expanded its machinery lineup with a CASE CX210E-S crawler excavator, tailored to the company’s operational requirements. The 22.5-tonne machine features a reinforced boom, heavy-duty undercarriage, wider low ground pressure tracks, and integrated Topcon machine guidance, enabling efficient grading and drainage work. The excavator is part of a fleet that includes a variety of CASE models, all supplied and supported by dealer Riverlea Industrial.
Built in India to the same specifications as Japanese-assembled models, the CX210E-S is powered by a Stage V FPT 6.7-litre diesel engine, delivering 166hp and 644Nm of torque. The machine incorporates a Steelwrist tilt-rotator and 360° cameras, enhancing versatility and operational precision. Griffiths’ tailored specification reflects the company’s focus on winter and wet weather operations, with all larger machines equipped for low ground disturbance and high lifting stability.
“It’s amazing, a real game-changer. The comfort in the cab is excellent and the cab is massive, even with the seat fully back. The controls are so smooth and responsive and, with the Topcon, it’s fabulous. The new E-Series machines are just a different level to the previous D Series.” said operator Evan Griffiths.
