CASE Launches Urban-Focused High-Reach Excavator

CASE Special Applications has put its first CX135E XRD ultra-compact high-reach demolition excavator into operation on a site in Lyon, France. The machine, designed for urban demolition, can reach up to 13 metres while remaining compact enough to work in confined spaces. Operated by Franck and Kevin Gojon of French contractor SJTP, it is being used to dismantle an 11-metre building as part of a school expansion project. The CX135E XRD features an expandable undercarriage, integrated cameras, a hydraulically tiltable cab, and advanced hydraulic controls, allowing precise operation and improved safety on complex urban sites.

The machine forms part of CASE Special Applications’ range of specialist solutions for construction and demolition projects, including models with low ground pressure, long reach, and tilt/rotate capabilities. The design combines compact transport dimensions with high stability and operator visibility, enabling efficiency in restricted job sites.

“At CASE we’re committed to delivering real-world solutions that enable our customers to overcome complex challenges. As greenfield sites disappear, urban renewal and strict environmental regulation are driving the need for agile demolition machinery tailored to confined, complex job sites, where power and precision are critical,” said Alain De Nanteuil, Head of Commercial Development for CASE Special Applications.
