New Sandvik System Targets Safer Underground Bolting

Sandvik has introduced a new pumpable resin system for use with its Sandvik DD422i and DD422iE Dual Controls development drills. The system, developed in conjunction with Sandvik Ground Support’s Mineral Bolt technology, is designed to support a wider range of bolt types in underground applications. Sandvik says the update improves bolt installation speed and consistency while enhancing overall operator safety.

The package includes automated resin injection through the operator display and features intended to reduce risk, such as boom movement prevention and clearer status indicators. According to the company, the resin system can be used with grouted rebar bolts, Versabolt™ for dynamic ground conditions, and DSI hollow and self-drilling bolts—offering flexible application in block caving, deep mining and rehabilitation scenarios.
