Hamm has expanded its HC series with the introduction of the 13 t HC 130i C VA compactor, adding to its portfolio of machines designed for efficient earthworks. The model incorporates Smart Compact technology and a new variable amplitude (VA) drum, enabling automatic compaction to a specified target value. This aims to deliver consistent results while reducing the need for double passes, improving fuel efficiency, and lowering emissions. The HC 130i C VA joins the previously launched 20 t and 25 t variants in the series.
The machine offers operators the choice between automatic and manual modes. In automatic mode, compaction amplitude is adjusted according to ground conditions and machine capacity, using the Smart Compaction Value (SCV) as a reference. This provides a uniform compaction outcome while limiting over-compaction and mechanical stress. Benefits include lower fuel use, reduced CO₂ emissions, and extended machine service life. The model complies with EU Stage V and EPA Tier 4f emission standards. Further details are available via the company’s official channels.
Hamm describes the new VA compactors as “setting new standards for compaction in earthworks,” highlighting their contribution to efficiency, sustainability, and operational reliability in the construction sector.
