BASF and Takazuri Collaborate on Climate-Resilient Building Solutions

BASF and Takazuri have partnered to develop climate-resilient building solutions for Eastern Africa. The collaboration centers around Climatile™, Takazuri's patent-pending roofing and cladding system, which uses locally collected post-consumer recycled materials. BASF's additive packages have been specifically tailored to meet the region’s challenging weather conditions, ensuring long-lasting durability and environmental sustainability.

Climatile™ offers features such as enhanced solar reflectance, improved insulation, and a corrosion-free surface for rainwater harvesting. Its modular design allows for the integration of accessories like frameless solar panels, making it adaptable for future upgrades. The partnership emphasizes creating sustainable, locally-sourced solutions for the construction sector in Africa.

“We sincerely hope that the construction sector and local communities in East Africa can benefit from this collaboration, thereby fostering economic growth,” said Bettina Sobotka, Head of Global Marketing and Development, Plastic Additives, BASF.
