BASF Introduces New Sustainable Materials at Fakuma 2024


BASF is showcasing its latest developments in sustainable materials at Fakuma,15 to 19 October 2024, in Friedrichshafen Germany, including biomass-balanced and recycled plastic solutions. The Ultramid® and Ultradur® product lines now feature materials with up to 100% recycled content, designed to deliver comparable performance to conventional plastics. These materials are intended to support sustainability efforts without requiring changes to existing manufacturing processes.

The company is also presenting its new Elastollan® 1400 TPU series, which offers hydrolysis and microbe resistance for use in applications where material stability is critical. Additionally, Ultramid® Expand, a polyamide-based foam, provides high temperature and chemical resistance and is suited for structural components and protective elements. BASF's latest innovations aim to combine performance with sustainability.

BASF highlights that these additions to its portfolio reflect ongoing efforts to reduce reliance on fossil resources and promote the use of more sustainable materials. The company notes that its solutions are designed to meet evolving customer requirements for efficiency and environmental responsibility.
