JCB Adds Electric Micro Excavator

JCB has introduced the 8008E CTS, a 1.0-tonne electric micro excavator, expanding its E-TECH range. Retaining the structure and controls of its diesel counterpart, it features a 9.9kWh battery, an electric motor-driven hydraulic pump, and compatibility with 110V and 230V charging. JCB says the machine delivers the same performance while reducing noise and emissions.

With an extending undercarriage and a tubular boom, the 8008E CTS operates at 66dB(A) at the operator station and 80dB(A) externally. Charging from 20-80% takes about three hours with a 230V supply or 5.5 hours using 110V. The company highlights lower maintenance needs due to fewer serviceable components.
