JCB to Supply Machines for 2025 Operator Challenge

JCB will act as the headline sponsor for the Awesome Earthmovers Operator Challenge at PlantWorx 2025. The event, taking place at Newark Showground from 23 to 25 September, will feature a full line-up of JCB machines, including excavators from 1 to 14 tonnes, the 145XR X-Series, the Hydradig, and an updated 3CX. A hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine will also be on display as part of JCB’s technology showcase.

The challenge returns following its 2023 edition and will include eight timed activities inspired by classic board games. Open to industry operators and attendees, the event is designed to test control and precision in a competitive setting. Two demonstration zones will also run alongside the challenge, offering hands-on access to selected equipment.

According to JCB, its involvement supports both the operator community and the company’s 80th anniversary celebrations. Gareth Lumsdaine, JCB UK and ROI Sales Director, said the challenge provides “a great platform to showcase our very latest construction machines, and to put skilled operators through their paces in a competitive, but friendly environment.”
