Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) has introduced its LANDCROS One concept excavator, developed in collaboration with automotive and mobility design studio Granstudio. The company says the concept signals a shift in how construction equipment could interact with operators, jobsites and the wider construction environment, combining remote, autonomous and manual capabilities with modular design and AI-assisted systems.
According to Hitachi, LANDCROS One incorporates a "phygital" operator interface blending physical controls and digital tools, alongside support for electric, combustion and hydrogen power sources. The machine also integrates drone-based site scanning and advanced connectivity features, enabling 24/7 global operations and support for a wide range of operator skill levels.
“LANDCROS One showcases Hitachi’s vision of a safer, smarter, and more sustainable future, blending groundbreaking AI, gamified ergonomics, autonomous and remote operations capabilities. We’re proud to lead the next wave of innovation, empowering the next-generation workforce and redefining possibilities in the construction machinery industry.” said Francesco Quaranta, President & CEO, HCM Europe.
