Two Liebherr 340 EC-B 16 flat-top cranes are playing a central role in the construction of the new Rahmede Valley Bridge on Germany’s A45 motorway. Supplied by BKL Baukran Logistik GmbH, the cranes are installed on foundation anchors with jib lengths of 75 metres and hook heights of 61 and 65 metres, enabling safe and precise lifting for concrete pouring, assembly of steel components, and other construction activities along the 453-metre bridge. Their efficient transport, assembly, and “Load Plus” capability allow a 20% increase in lifting capacity when needed, helping to maintain project timelines.
The cranes are supporting every stage of the project, from pier construction to deck slab concreting, and are designed to perform effectively in constrained site conditions while maintaining high levels of operational reliability. The EC-B series flat-top cranes combine stable design, ease of operation, and precise control systems, making them suitable for demanding infrastructure projects. Full service from BKL, including technical planning and on-site support, complements the crane performance and ensures smooth workflow throughout the bridge replacement.
